Standard Account
Brokers & RegulationThe common retail forex account type where the broker's fee is built into the spread rather than charged as a separate per-lot commission.
A standard account is the most common retail forex account type, where positions are sized in standard lots of 100,000 units of the base currency, with mini and micro lots usually available as well. Pricing is normally all-in: the broker's fee is built into a slightly wider spread instead of being charged as a separate commission. Standard accounts typically carry a modest minimum deposit and give access to the broker's usual instrument range, leverage tiers and platforms.
They are often contrasted with raw-spread or ECN accounts, which quote tighter spreads but add a per-lot commission. Neither structure is automatically cheaper — the real cost depends on the spread, the commission and how frequently a trader trades.
