WebTrader

Platforms & Tools

A browser-based trading platform that needs no installation, offering charts and order entry with a lighter feature set than desktop.

A WebTrader is a browser-based version of a broker's trading platform that runs without installing any software. It opens in Chrome, Safari or Firefox, keeps charts, watchlists, open positions and account history on the broker's servers, and lets a trader log in from any machine — useful on a locked-down work computer or a borrowed laptop. Feature sets vary: most WebTraders cover charting, order entry, position management and reports, while advanced functions such as running Expert Advisors, installing custom indicators or full strategy testing usually stay in the desktop terminal. Because everything depends on the browser session, a dropped connection can interrupt trade management, so server-side stop-loss and take-profit levels matter more here than usual.
