Trading Plan

A trading plan is a written set of rules covering exactly when and how a trader enters and exits positions, how much they risk per trade, which instruments and sessions they trade, and how they'll respond to losing streaks. Having it in writing turns trading from a series of in-the-moment reactions into a testable, repeatable process. A trading plan is only useful if it's actually followed — one of the most common gaps between profitable backtests and disappointing live results is a trader deviating from their own written plan under real pressure.
